I actually made this film for a contest that didn’t end well. The video received around 11k views by the time the contest ended and I was furious to discover that the contest organizers LOST my entry after they posted different entry directions on different posts. Regardless, I was really happy that so many people felt so moved by this piece. When people come up to me on the street this is many times one of the films they reference as one of their favorites. This film was originally made to have a voiceover read in the background (this was before I’d met Hilde Oleson), but after reading dozens of poems, I couldn’t find any one poem that truly spoke to me.
