This wasn’t the first film I’d made for The White Party and I wanted to take things to the next level. The song “Fresh Eyes,” by Andy Grammar had only come out a few days earlier so I knew the song would be starting to trend as it came out. The dance moves were mostly written by me in my basement, figuring out the best simple dance moves for singles, couples, and groups. The way most shots actually started off were with me dancing with the groups on camera. Once the groups get the moves down solid (and to the beat), I’d just simply step out of frame. There is a certain degree of improv when making this kind of video, but the majority of it was all planned way in advance. The “uh-huh” eye movements were also planned well in advance.
