This was the film that started it all. “Back Home” was my first film to really take off (no pun intended). Still to this day I get people all the time coming up to me, telling me that they really fell in love with this film. The funny behind the scenes story I wanted to share has to do with the music which was by Andy Grammer. I’ve been a fan of Andy’s for years and the song “Back Home” really spoke to me unlike anything else I’d heard (it remains to be my favorite song to date). When I found out Andy was going to be performing in Boston, I immediately grabbed a ticket as well as a VIP pass so I could meet him. I had no idea if he’d seen the film or not and so I loaded it onto a flash drive. When I got to the concert I discovered the event had screwed up the information and we’d already missed the meet and greet. I politely asked them to try and find a way so I could meet him. They let me sit with his family during the concert and afterwards, they brought me back stage. Earlier, I had given an usher the flash drive to deliver to the stage manager, hoping they’d give it to Andy. By the time I got back to see Andy, he had just gotten out of the shower and was amazingly friendly. He told me that not only had he received the flash drive, but he’d piled his whole crew in front of his laptop and they all loved the film. Since then I’ve seen Andy two more times and he gives one hell of a live concert performance.
